What is Included in Wedding Packages?
The above packages and pricing includes use of the sunken English Garden, the lawn, the Loggia (large covered porch), Ballroom and Great Hall for six hours (including setup and clean up). These prices are for 100 or fewer guests; additional guests are extra (this varies by day of week and number of guests). If you would like to find out how much additional guests may be, please call.
All wedding packages include a "day-of" client manager to facilitate setup, vendors, etc. and labor for setting up of tables and chairs as relates to use of Thornewood Castle. In the case of inclement weather, your outdoor wedding can be moved indoors into the Great Hall at no extra charge.
Also includes the following services provided by Thornewood:
- Changing suite for the bride and her attendants; changing area for groom and his attendants
- Gate and/or parking attendants; use of our onsite parking area
- Client manager who coordinates with vendors and oversees services provided by Thornewood
- Chairs for ceremony (either inside or outside)
- Tables and chairs for dining
- Labor for setting up Thornewood tables and chairs
- You may use our table linens, and rose and crystal centerpieces on the tables
- You may plug in an iPod, laptop, or CDs into our sound system in the Great Hall
- Use of our projection screen (we do not provide a projector) in the Ballroom
You may also use our grounds and pre-approved areas of the castle for your wedding photography.
Scheduling
Event must generally conclude (including clean up) by 8 PM or or earlier. Special arrangements must be made for later reception/wedding times. Because Thornewood is a private residence in a residential community, no events can go past 10 PM under any circumstances.
Catering
We allow your choice of caterers, subject to their meeting all health code requirements (and we haven’t had prior bad experiences with them). We also do NOT charge your caterer the customary 10-15% or more percentage of their catering contract with you. We can share names of caterers that other weddings have used. Your caterer will need to provide their food service tables and any other tables required.
Alcohol
We do permit you to bring your own alcohol with a $10 state banquet permit and without further corkage charges. We do not permit keg beer or hard liquor. We do require an alcohol server (i.e. no self-service of alcohol). We can share names of some sources of bartenders that other wedding parties have used, if needed. Alcohol service must end one hour before your event scheduled end time. Alcohol may also be catered in by any business licensed by the State to serve in such a manner.
Music and Dancing
We provide use of our professional sound system and microphones in the castle. The Great Hall is used for dancing and we can accommodate a DJ, live musicians, etc. Live bands are not permitted outdoors, but live musicians may be used for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies.
Honeymoons and Lodging
Consider our convenient overnight accommodations for your wedding night, for your out-of-town guests and/or the two new extended families, or even for the honeymoon couple.
If you book Thornewood Castle for your wedding, you can reserve our overnight suites for a sizeable discount. The discount varies depending on season, day of week and availability. Lots of new in-law families have commented on how great it was to all spend some informal time and meals together in such a spectacular setting. |
