Located only 42 miles south of Seattle, WA, Thornewood Castle is a wonderful “destination” wedding location, but it is close enough to be a great option for a local Seattle wedding venue.

The drive from downtown Seattle to Thornewood Castle takes about 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Thornewood is 30 miles south of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

We have worked with several Seattle wedding vendors, so you can work with caterers, bakeries, florists and other service providers in Seattle if you wish.

Lodging & Transportation

If you have guests flying in to attend your wedding, they can lodge overnight at the Castle. If you want them to stay in Seattle, you can book transportation for your guests to the Thornewood wedding venue for the event, if desired. We also have ample onsite parking for guests that drive.

Rain in Seattle? No problem! Thornewood has you covered - literally. Our wedding venue offers both indoor and outdoor wedding options, so our couples never have to worry about bad weather.

Weather

Thornewood also provides a great wedding venue solution to the Seattle weather problem that has always plagued local brides. Since there is never any guarantee that our Seattle skies will be clear at any time of year, we can move an outdoor wedding from our garden into our Great Hall inside the castle in less than fifteen minutes if there is unexpected rain or other bad weather. We also have large grounds that can accommodate nearly any size tent, if you wish to use that as your bad-weather alternative.
